Connect the companion app

Power on the PGPemu device, open PGPemu Companion, and tap Scan for devices. Every nearby device appears in a list as it's found, with its Bluetooth address and signal strength. If you have more than one nearby, the strongest signal is usually the closest. Tap yours in the list. The app connects and completes pairing on its own — there's no PIN or passphrase to type.

Pair with Pokémon GO

This is a separate step from connecting the companion app, done from inside Pokémon GO itself, the same way you'd pair a real Poké Ball Plus or GO Plus.

  1. In Pokémon GO, open Settings and go to the Pokémon GO Plus / Poké Ball Plus pairing screen.
  2. Start the search. Your PGPemu device shows up in the scan like a real accessory.
  3. Select it. Pairing completes automatically, with no passphrase required.

Once paired, Pokémon GO reconnects to it automatically whenever both are in range and Bluetooth is on — the same as it would with genuine hardware.

Multiple connections

A single PGPemu device can hold up to 4 simultaneous Bluetooth connections at once, shared between Pokémon GO and the companion app. Each connection gets its own device profile (numbered #0 to #3) with independent Autospin and Autocatch settings — see Device Profiles.

This is useful if more than one Pokémon GO account uses the same device, since each account's connection is tracked and configured separately. The Settings page lets you lower the connection limit below 4 if you'd rather keep it reserved for fewer accounts.

Disconnecting

Tap Disconnect at the bottom of the companion app screen to end its own connection. This doesn't affect Pokémon GO's connection to the device — the two are independent. To drop every connection at once, including Pokémon GO's, use Disconnect all clients in Diagnostics.
